Restaurant
Upstairs at McSwiggan’s lies our Steak & Seafood Restaurant. A space where the finest of Ireland’s produce is celebrated with simplicity, skill, and respect. Bathed in natural light by day and warmly lit by evening, the restaurant combines understated elegance with an inviting, lively atmosphere.
Whether you’re enjoying a juicy steak, fresh oysters, or a glass of perfectly paired wine, you’ll find the same ethos throughout McSwiggan’s: honest, wholesome hospitality delivered by people who care deeply about what they do. It’s food that feeds the soul as well as the body – prepared with pride, served with warmth, and remembered long after your visit.
Here, the scent of charcoal-grilled Irish beef mingles with the briny freshness of Atlantic seafood, creating a dining experience rooted in provenance and elevated by craft. Whether gathering for a family Sunday roast, sharing oysters over wine with friends, or enjoying an intimate dinner for two, guests can expect heartfelt hospitality and dishes that honour the farmers, fishermen, and producers who make McSwiggan’s what it is today.
At McSwiggan’s, steak is a craft honed through generations of Irish butchery and open-fire cooking traditions. We source prime cuts from Quigley’s Meats, renowned for grass-fed Irish cattle and a meticulous dry-ageing process that develops rich, layered flavours. Each steak is seared over 350°C in our Josper charcoal oven, sealing in juiciness and imparting a subtle smokiness unique to this method. From tender fillet to robust ribeye or marbled sirloin, every cut is simply seasoned with Maldon sea salt to let the natural quality shine.
Our seafood honours the wild beauty of Ireland’s Atlantic coast. Kelly’s Oyster Farm in Kilcolgan supplies our oysters, harvested just 20 minutes away for pristine freshness. Mussels come from the unspoilt waters of Killary Fjord, prized for their sweet, plump flesh and sustainable farming practices that protect local marine ecosystems. Daily specials showcase the best local white fish and shellfish, prepared with simplicity to celebrate their natural flavours.
Ireland’s connection to wine runs deeper than many realise. From the 17th century, Irish emigrants known as the Wine Geese established renowned vineyards across Bordeaux and beyond – a legacy that continues today. At McSwiggan’s, we honour this heritage with a carefully curated wine list overseen by Alan Crowley MW, Ireland’s first Master of Wine. Each bottle – from crisp French Chablis and bold Argentinian Malbec to vibrant Chilean Sauvignon Blanc – is selected for provenance, balance, and the perfect pairing with our dishes.
