For over forty years, McSwiggan’s has been at the heart of Galway life. Nestled in historic Woodquay – where land once met sea and market boats delivered produce to its door – this building has evolved from Cosgrove’s Pub in the 1920s to Patrick O’Flynn’s grocery store, and today stands as Galway’s award-winning gastropub.
Here, exceptional food and crafted drinks meet genuine Irish hospitality. Downstairs, our Public House blends traditional charm with lively Galway spirit – cosy snugs, roaring open fires, and the city’s first Oyster Bar shucking fresh Kelly’s oysters daily. Upstairs, our Steak & Seafood Restaurant showcases the best of Ireland’s land and sea: prime grass-fed beef cooked over charcoal in our Josper oven and Atlantic seafood served simply to honour its provenance.
